Building Bridges: ADF Joins Global Dialogue with Disability Organizations

New York, 11 March 2026 — The ASEAN Disability Forum (ADF) participated in the session “Peer Dialogues and Exchanges by Organizations of Persons with Disabilities” organized by the International Disability Alliance (IDA) in New York. The activity took place on the sidelines of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) and brought together various organizations from different regions, including organizations of persons with disabilities such as ADF and the Africa Disability Forum, as well as CBM Global, an international non-profit organization working to improve the quality of life and promote the rights of persons with disabilities.

The session served as a platform for organizations to get to know each other, share their backgrounds, areas of work, and key advocacy priorities in their respective regions. “The dialogue created a space for organizations to introduce their work, priorities, and advocacy focus,” reflected the spirit of the discussion. Participants also exchanged views on challenges in advancing disability inclusion, as well as opportunities to strengthen their roles in advocacy at national, regional, and global levels.

Through the dialogue, participants identified potential areas for future cross-regional collaboration, including joint programs, capacity strengthening, and global advocacy efforts. “The exchange opened opportunities for future collaborations and stronger partnerships,” was one of the key takeaways from the session. ADF’s participation in this forum reaffirms its commitment to strengthening global networks and building strategic partnerships to advance the rights of persons with disabilities in an inclusive manner.
