ASEAN has launched the newly adopted ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Strategic Plan 2026-2030 of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 by the ASEAN Leaders at the 46th ASEAN Summit. The strategic plan highlights key measures for building a prosperous, integrated, and innovation-driven economy, by an inclusive workforce and guided by sustainability principles.

To promote awareness of the AEC Strategic Plan 2026–2030, The ASEAN chair of ASEAN Economic Community Council namely the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry of Malaysia supported by the ASEAN Secretariat, Government of Australia, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH conducted the Regional Socialisation on AEC Strategic Plan of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 on 12 June 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The socialisation event featured two-panel discussions aimed at reimagining ASEAN’s economic integration and resilience while forging an inclusive and sustainable future. The first discussion panel focused on reinventing a single marketplace and resilience, including guaranteeing that companies benefit from the execution of the AEC Strategic Plan 2026- 2030.

The second-panel discussion centred on catalysing inclusive economic growth by positioning women, youth, and marginalised communities as co-creators in the implementation of the Strategic Plan. Ms. Maulani Rotinsulu, the ASEAN Disability Forum Secretary-General joined this panel discussion virtually.

She mentioned the challenges and the needs of people with disabilities in accessing inclusive economic facilities including digital economy, financial institutions, and economic markets. Therefore the government of ASEAN member states shall provide accessibility and equal opportunities through regulations and programs as the translation of AEC Strategic Plan 2026-2030 into national policies in all ASEAN member states.
